The server is... broken? Spawn is a mess, plugins don't work, errors fill the console, etc.

I honestly haven't been playing Minecraft as much, either. I've been resigning from staff and developer on different servers and just not enjoying the game as I used to years ago. I'll still play some Minecraft servers, though- I'll have a whole list of the ones I play the most in the Discord server #announcements channel soon.

Regarding world saves that I've been saying I'll have for you since 2013-14, they probably won't come anytime soon. If they do, they'll be in a separate post in this blog, so subscribe to email notifications below so you won't miss them.

And also, the BungeeCord network I've been teasing for the past month will be discontinued. It's too much work and I don't even think portforwarding all those ports with no DDoS protection is the greatest idea anyway... I'll try to get the source for that network available for download soon.

I started it early October and it's still online (yeah, not too long but knowing my server history, it is.) With any creative plots server, it started causing problems and things just got really messed up. I then proposed a full recreation of the server to the admins and then to the moderators and all of them agreed. I worked for about a week non-stop at getting the newer version of the server to be as perfect as possible. At this point, the new version of the server is probably ready for release but then I pretty much started delaying everything (quite normal for me.) It's probably been a week since I last worked on the server and I just don't feel like working on it.

Recently, I got way too addicted with an OP-Prison Minecraft server that I found. Now, I had always liked prison servers inside Minecraft until the prison server I played shut down, then the same thing happened with another. I hadn't realized how much I'd liked prison servers until then and then started thinking about creating my own prison server. I sort of rejected my own idea of creating a prison server because they are really, really hard work. Finally, a couple days ago, I started looking into creating prison servers and began to change my mind about a prison server. I found a few good prison server tutorials (well, really old and outdated ones) and got a good idea of what creating a prison server is like. Finally, this morning, I got up early to begin work on the new server. My original plan was to just quickly throw together a server and update it from there. That way, I could get the server out as soon as possible. I thought that I'd already took enough time working on the recreation of the original Cloud Creative server and just wanted to get it out. I've changed my mind dramatically and I'm going to take as much time as needed to prevent my previous server mistakes (I have a huge server history where I just throw servers together and they just fail.) I'm expecting about another week until I let admins and moderators join and about two weeks until I release it to all players.

Regarding the old server, I'll have all of the following uploaded and available for public download as soon as possible.

Original server

Original server world

New, unreleased server

New, unreleased server world

I'll also probably open up the unreleased server to the public so you can play there until I'm finished the new prison server.

Now, I know I've denied survival worlds/servers in the past under the name Cloud Creative due to the fact the name has creative in it. I've changed my mind again since then and the new server will keep the original name Cloud Creative. The server address will be the same, as well (
play.cloudcreative.me
) and the website URL will also be the same but the website will be different, more information on that can be found later in the post.

Regarding the new prison server, most features will be announced in the future but it is based on multiple OP-Prison servers I play/have played in the past and it will be OP-Prison, too. There will be a plot world like most current prison servers have where you can setup shops and build stuff, etc. but the plots will be much smaller, you can redeem less than before, and it's all in survival mode (with a market.) There will be ranks A-Z with a Free rank and there will also be prestiges like the newer prison servers have. There will be only one economy at release but I hope to add etokens (enchanting tokens) in the near future. The new staff ranks I planned on releasing for Cloud Creative 2.0 will be in the new server, as well. Donor ranks will not be in the server but voting for crate tokens will.

There will also be a new website for the server. It'll probably be a fork of one large project I started working on, Carbon, which I unofficially abandoned a couple months ago. There will be a custom forums, information, possibly a dynamic map, etc. there. I will open-source the website as I pretty much do with all my websites.

I think that's all I have to say about the new server. I'll be revealing more features in the future and hope to see you all when the server is finally up. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me anywhere you can contact me. Thanks for reading! :D

Completely off-topic

Really quickly putting this here because I don't want to make a separate post on this, I'm probably going to be releasing the server files and worlds for all my old servers for those who have played my servers for a while and want them. Below is a list of the ones I hope to release.

DOSS1-3 (Classic DOSS)

DOSS4 (Survival)

LukeCraft (Really old survival server)

VastVoxel (Modded creative)

Creative (Creative plots)

Factions (Factions)

Skyblock (Skyblock)

Cloud Creative (Creative plots)

Cloud Creative 2.0 (WIP creative plots)

Also, this post may use more technical terms so don't feel ashamed if you don't understand some of it. :P

This is only the backstory if you feel like reading it. You can skip to the next section if you aren't interested.

A few days ago, I started DOSS1 up again for the first time in about two years. I made a poll about what server should become the new main server hosted on port 25566 and DOSS1 won by one vote to a new server. There were a few other options but they got so little views I shouldn't even bother mentioning them.

When I say the main server, there are two other servers, a private whitelisted server on port 25565 and a Minecraft alpha server hosted on port 25567. The alpha server requires a bit of extra setup to use, though. Contact my directly to join!

So, I kept DOSS1 up and updated it to Spigot 1.8 so that I could install ViaVersion so players could join on 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12. It helped a bit, but the server's still not native to 1.12, therefore newer features, such as elytra, cannot be used.

Soo... I came up with a solution for it but there some things you must know before I do it.

To modernize and update the server from 1.8 to 1.12, I will do the following:

Create a fresh new server running Spigot 1.12.

Recover the old banned-ips and banned-players .json and .txt.converted, crash-reports, logs files, as well as some other more technical files.

Recover all the contents of the plugins folder.

Copy directories from the plugins folder.

Gather all 1.12 plugin .jar files from new plugin sources.

Erase all Essentials-related files.

Replace Essentials .jar files with EssentialsX .jar files.

Erase all GroupManager-related files.

Replace GroupManager .jar files with PermissionsEX .jar files.

Restore essential files from old recovered GroupManager folder.

Fix any Java exceptions from new files.

touch nobackup

Restore world, world-nether, and world-the-end

And that's all. Now, this is pretty risky because if I make one wrong move, something could get corrupted or messed up. I'll make sure to remove
nobackup
from the current folder to allow a quick backup. I'm going to try to do this over the weekend because it's going to take some time so if you log onto the server and see nothing, I'm probably not done with the process yet. Thank you for understanding. If you have any questions or I didn't explain something well, contact me before the weekend via in-game mail on the server. Address is
mc.gqq.co:25566
.

For those who want to try that alpha server I was talking about earlier, download MultiMC from the internet for your OS, open it, and create a new profile inside it with the Minecraft version alpha 1.2.6. Then, you can join the server
mc.gqq.co:25567
. Enjoy!

WannaCry

I've always wondered. Why do people even want to send out malware, even ransomeware, to people? They obviously know that they'll get caught and get in big trouble.

WannaCry is a piece of ransomware coded by anonymous (at the time of this post) hacker(s). It infects computers via a suspicious email link and activates shortly after with an application called "Wana Decrypt0r 2.0" telling you what's going on. It has a information about what happened and how to recover your files.

Recover your files? Your important files have been encrypted and, because this is ransomware, you have to pay to decrypt them via bitcoins. The starting price is 300 dollars. 300 dollars. You could buy a good tablet with that money! But it gets even crazier. After three days, the payment will be raised to 600 dollars. Now that's crazy! Two good tablets! Finally, after seven days, you're out of luck. You can't pay anymore. You will just have to deal with no important files.

People are starting to come up with solutions for this by removing the Wana Decrypt0r .exe file and decrypting all the files, although some people have already fallen into the trap of paying 300 dollars to decrypt their files.

The hacker(s) have only earned an estimate of $55,000, a tiny amount of money compared to what other hackers have achieved by creating ransomware, making it a big failure. The hacker(s) are still yet to be identified.

DOSS & VastVoxel

Today, March 19, 2017, DOSS3 will be shutting down.
September 2016: Again, new DOSS. Calling it DOSS3.

Yes, six months have passed since DOSS3 has started. Yes, three years and seven months since DOSS1 started. Big numbers!

Anyway, absolutely nobody has been playing DOSS3. This is the same problem I had with DOSS2. No active players. I thought a fresh new server would gain players. Welp, I was wrong.

I'm thinking about discontinuing the DOSS series at DOSS3 as well as shutting it down. I personally am not very satisfied with the server currently.

Anyway, recently I've been noticing that people aren't playing DOSS3. Like, at all. To be honest, I haven't been playing at all either.

So then I decided I'd create a poll for a DOSS4. Now, this time everything will be different. For one thing, DOSS3 will stay up until DOSS4 is ready. Second of all, it won't be just classic DOSS. There will be a creative plots world, a survival world, possibly a couple minigames, etc. Still haven't worked everything out.

I know that not all of you will be happy with this so I created a poll. You can vote now at the bottom of the page to share your opinion on having DOSS4. All votes are completely anonymous. Also, please don't vote more than once.

Hello. Recently, a severe bug inside of YouTube was discovered by BlackScreenTV, a fairly popular YouTuber. This bug can result in a large loss of subscribers, and even negative subscribers. Scary!

How does this happen?!

Well, due to a glitch in the subscriber counting system, every time someone unsubscribes to you, you loose 2 subscribers instead of one. After this bug was discovered, people decided it would be fun to unsubscribe then subscribe again, and repeat that process. When you do that, you loose 2 subs, then gain 1, loose 2, gain 1, and so on.

How do I prevent this horrible thing?!

Sorry to say, but there isn't a way. The best thing you can do is stop advertising your channel to people until this bug is patched. The more you advertise, the more people view your channel. The more people that view your channel, the more stupid people who want you to loose subscribers. People these days...

So yeah. Pretty bad.

Even my friend (he recently hit 50 subscribers) got hit with this and dropped down to zero subscribers. Make sure to subscribe to him to get him back up to 50 subscribers. You can find his channel here.

So, it has been rumored that Pangu will release a jailbreak before the holidays. Reddit user Freskeeeh made a post to Reddit yesterday titled "New site for Pangu 9.2-9.3.3". It states how Pangu just made a new link to the Pangu 9.2 - 9.3.3 jailbreak website. Pangu only does this when a new jailbreak is about to be released on their main website. This means that we are about to see a new jailbreak, probably for iOS 10 - iOS 10.2. Pangu is most likely waiting for Apple to drop the stable release of iOS 10.2 to release the tool.

Anyway, that's all for now. Let's hope that Pangu releases a new jailbreak soon!

DOSS Updates & 1.11

Hello!

Hello, Luke here! Today I have a bunch of news on not only the third generation of the Dragon of Smelted Sand server, but news on the older one. Let's get rooooooooouat into the news!

First, the old server. So when the :N: DoSS shutdown, I wrote a post on it and said that there would be a "present"... Well I had no idea what that would be and I just felt like adding that... Sorry, but no present.

Next is that the original DoSS from back in 2014 (or 2013, I forget...) map save will be available for download on Planet Minecraft sometime soon! The whole New DoSS server folder is available on Planet Minecraft right now, but soon only the map will be available for those who do not want to go digging through the server folder to retrieve the world save.

And the part that you've all been waiting for: Dragon of Smelted Sand v3...

With an ETA of August 20-30 to the public, Dragon of Smelted Sand v3, abbreviated DoSS3, will be the third generation of the Dragon of Smelted Sand server. DoSS3 will have the same style as the other two servers, you start in survival and earn your way to creative. Any staff from the :N: DoSS or the DoSS can ask for their rank back if they wish. If you have any questions, you can PM me on Planet Minecraft, my username is
TheLukeGuy
. Only staff on the previous two servers can ask me for early access while the server is whitelisted, so if you aren't staff, please don't bother asking. The answer is no.

And that's all! I can't wait to see all of you again on DoSS3! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I will see you later. ✌️

How to Jailbreak iOS 9.2 - iOS 9.3.3 Remotely (PP + Pangu)

A new jailbreak has been released. You notice it requires a computer. Sigh... Well, what if I told you that you don't need a computer?

Alright, so here are the Pros and the Cons of this remote jailbreak.

Pros:

No computer

Super fast & easy

Uses 1 year certificate

Cannot be revoked by Apple*

Cons:

In Chinese

May take multiple attempts

Okay, let's get into the jailbreak process. Before we start, please make sure you read all of the steps before attempting.

First, you will need to download the PP app onto your iOS device. You can do that by visiting this page on your iOS device** and tapping here.

Next, go home and look under the app logo where it will say either "Loading..." or "Installing". Wait for the text to change from "Loading..." to "Installing...". Immediately open control center and turn on Airplane Mode. You need to do this before the app finishes downloading. If it says the app cannot be installed at this time, delete the app and repeat step 1 and 2. Proceed to step 3 once the app successfully installs.

Then, open Settings and go to General, Profiles and Device Management, find the certificate for the PP app, tap on it, and select Trust. If you cannot trust the app, you need to follow the instructions for my upcoming blog post, titled "How to Fix Unable to Verify iPhone Developer."

After that, open the PP app and allow notifications. If you don't allow notifications, the jailbreak will fail. This jailbreak relies on an exploit related to notifications. Wait for about a minute and press the button inside the ring. Then, wait about another 30 seconds and lock your device.

Finally, you should receive a notification in Chinese. That means that the jailbreak was successful but it needs a minute to install Cydia and respring. Do not touch your device during this process. Once the apple logo is displayed, wait for a second and you should be able to unlock your device and see Cydia on your home screen.

If any part of this jailbreak didn't work, I will write a post on how to troubleshoot jailbreak errors. Be patient for now. Maybe try a YouTube video on it?

*The certificate used was already revoked by Apple but by putting it in Airplane mode when it says "Installing...", you can bypass this.

**You must be using the Safari app on an iOS device in order for this to work.

How to View Page Source on iOS

Before I start this, I would like to inform you that I am aware of the new jailbreak.
Have you ever wanted to view the HTML and CSS of a webpage on iOS? Well now you can using a simple bookmarklet.

So, first, go here and copy the code by tapping and holding on a part of the code and selecting the whole code and tapping Copy.

Next, bookmark this page by tapping on the share button and selecting Add Bookmark. Call the bookmark Firebug.

After that, tap on bookmarks, find the folder the bookmark is in, and on the bottom right, tap Edit. Now, tap on the bookmark you created and replace the URL with the JavaScript code you copied.

And you're done! To use Firebug, all you have to do is open the bookmark on any website.
